Did you know that if you make a donation of shares to the Sick Kids Friends Foundation you can get a personal tax relief of up to 40% while helping the Sick Children?
Donating shares to the Sick Kids is simpler than you think and can give higher rate tax payers income tax relief and also reduce the Capital Gains Tax liability. It means that you can donate to the Sick Kids at a lower cost to you. For example, a donation of £4,500 worth of shares from a 40% tax payer would bring income tax relief of £1,800, capital gains relief of £1,800, thus costing only £900 to donate.
The first step is to give us a call and let us know that you are planning to donate some shares. Depending on how the shares are held, you will either be asked to fill out a stock transfer form or arrange for a transfer from your nominee account straight to the Sick Kids Friends Foundation.
