How we help
The purpose of the Sick Kids Friends Foundation is to provide extra funding in addition to NHS provision in four main areas which will benefit the 100,000 children and their families who come to the hospital every year.
We do this by raising funds to provide for:
- extra comforts for sick children being cared for at the hospital and in the Community
- extra state of the art medical equipment
- extra family and child-friendly facilities
- extra training and research
We do not receive any government funding for these purposes but raise the funds through the commitment of members of the public through:
- events organised by members of the public, companies and our own staff
- sponsorship raised by members of the public or companies' employees in various sporting challenges, marathons, walks and cycles
- donations from individuals on a regular or one-off basis
- legacies
- corporate fundraising
- donations from Trusts and Foundations
- donations from organisations including schools and colleges
- profit from our hospital shop and trading company, Task Trading Ltd
- commercial partnerships
