Volunteer
There are lots of ways you can help the Sick Kids Friends Foundation by donating your time and talents. Volunteers assist us:
- in our office for a few hours every week assisting our admin team
- in our hospital shop, serving the public and stocking the shelves
- to help us look after our collecting boxes which are kept by shops etc
- to help us with our events where we raise vital funds for the charity
- with collections from time to time
We are in need of fundraising volunteers to help at the variety of events we organise throughout the year. Depending on the event roles can vary from serving refreshments to selling raffle tickets.
If you are over 18 years of age and would like further information on becoming a member of our volunteer fundraising team please contact Rachel McKenzie
You can help in the hospital too, if you are over 18, free for a minimum of 2 hours every week and can commit to a minimum of 6 months volunteering. We need:
- guides to show people to the right place
- play volunteers to work alongside the play leaders on the wards
- readers to share stories and books with the children and give parents a break
- befrienders to provide one to one visits
- radio Lollipop volunteers to broadcast in the evenings and play with the children
- WRVS volunteers to serve in the Cafeteria
- volunteers to promote healthy eating such as handing out fruit
- new Members for the Family Council are always welcome
- work in our Drop In Centre helping to support children and families
